Why is Alpha Trace only £1 a month? The price seems too low – is there a catch?

We get asked this question a lot, and the truth is; there is no catch. We’ve been selling Alpha•Dot for over 15 years, and leaving aside manufacturing and distribution costs, what we’ve found is the thing that costs the most is the very thing upon which the system depends. That is support and maintenance of the Traceline™ Database, which has now grown to over half a million individual customers.

Dealing with Insurers, keeping customer records up-to-date has become a huge task. And this, coupled with close Police liaison, providing expert witnesses at court and a myriad of other services that support the system is why we’re changing our business model.

With a subscription service, we get a regular revenue stream and you get an improved service for LIFE and, subject to our fair usage policy, Alpha•Dot kits for ALL your stuff, not just your car or bike.

We thought about this for quite some time and arrived at the current prices because we thought it unfair to charge you twice; once for the kit(s) and then for the service, so we kept it simple, just a low monthly fee.

We will be reviewing our current offer of £1 a month for the standard pack and £2 a month for the larger user In October when we can better see how many people decide to take advantage of the deal, and what they really want from us. But if you join between now and then, we will guarantee these prices forever.
